About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with landowners, stakeholders, and mana whenua to achieve improvements in land management. This involves understanding different land uses and how they can play a part in achieving good catchment outcomes.

You will have an understanding of our farming, forestry, and horticulture industries, as well as an appreciation of the diversity and geography of Mid Canterbury. From drylands to spring-fed streams, urban waterways, and industrial catchments, you will be able to navigate these complexities and help inform decision-making.

This is a blend of fieldwork and office-based work, requiring confidence and fitness to navigate farms, hill slopes, and waterways. You will be working primarily with landowners, stakeholders, and mana whenua to promote sustainable land use practices.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter and willing to learn. You will need to connect easily with the farming community, customers, members of your team, and key stakeholders. As a natural collaborator, you will draw people together, listen to their issues, and build trust while influencing their views on improving environmental management.

You will offer experience in the agricultural or support industries or knowledge of farm systems and land management practices. Your sound knowledge of good management practices and Dairy Farming/Hill and high-country experience will add to your application.
