This role plays a key part in identifying risks, supporting responsible AI adoption, and enabling data-driven decision-making within a well-governed framework. It collaborates with stakeholders to define policies, standards, and controls that promote data integrity, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Ko tō mahi – what you'll do
  • Support the data governance function by ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
  • Identify and address data management and governance risks.
  • Develop and maintain a data catalog, ensuring clear metadata documentation.
  • Bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions.
  • Support Data Engineers and Architects with data solutions and pipeline design.
  • Document knowledge gained for others to benefit from in future work.
  • Assess the desirability, viability, and feasibility of new use cases.
Key Skills
  • Data engineering and data warehousing principles.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Documenting processes and findings.
  • Kimball methodologies and Scrum environment experience.
  • On-premises and cloud environments, ideally AWS and/or Azure.
