About the Role

The Electron GNC Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and applying Guidance, Navigation, and Control systems used in the operation and production of the Electron rocket.

This role requires a high level of expertise in GNC systems, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop GNC systems for the Electron rocket
  • Implement and test GNC software and hardware components
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful launch operations
  • Analyze data to optimize GNC system performance
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation

What You'll Need

  • Masters, bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Experience developing in Python or MATLAB
  • A thorough theoretical and/or practical understanding of rigid and/or flexible body dynamics, particularly 6DOF rocket dynamics
  • Understanding of orbital mechanics and/or closed-loop control systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships
