Rocket Lab is a pioneering company in launch and space systems, enabling ambitious and vital space missions globally. Our Electron rocket has provided reliable access to orbit since 2018, becoming one of the most frequently launched rockets in the world. We're committed to unlocking the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but it requires hard work, determination, relentless innovation, teamwork, grit, and an unwavering commitment to achieving what others deem impossible.
The Space Systems team at Rocket Lab is responsible for designing, creating, and putting together our own satellites for missions across the commercial, government, and defense sectors. As a Senior Flight Dynamics Operator (FIDO), you will be part of a dynamic operations team in the Mission Control Center, working alongside subject matter experts from various departments to track, navigate, and design maneuvers for our rockets and satellites.
This role requires advanced knowledge of orbital mechanics, orbit determination theory, and mission analysis with software tools like STK, GMAT, and Copernicus. You will need to solve complex problems under time pressure and prioritize tasks in consultation with stakeholders. A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Space Systems, or Software Engineering is required, along with relevant work experience and skills.
We pride ourselves on having each other's backs, checking our egos at the door, and rolling up our sleeves on all tasks big and small. Our focus is always on how we can deliver, rather than dwelling on challenges. We thrive under pressure and work to tight deadlines.
