About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Sport Coordinator to champion the promotion and growth of sports at the University of Canterbury. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the profile of sport and increasing participation among students.

The role involves leading the development of social sport competitions for students and overseeing all aspects of the UTSNZ inter-university competition. You will also provide support and partnership for events and activations on and off-campus.

About Us

The University of Canterbury's Recreation and Sport team delivers positive and holistic sport and recreation programmes to the student community. We work collaboratively across the full Rec&Sport team and across multiple university departments to progress our goal of improving wellbeing for UC students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement dynamic sports programs within an educational setting
  • Lead the development of social sport competitions for students
  • Oversee all aspects of the UTSNZ inter-university competition
  • Provide support and partnership for events and activations on and off-campus

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proven track record of implementing dynamic sports programs within an educational setting
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
