We are seeking a skilled Sports Development Manager to join our UC Sport and Recreation Centre team. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and growing sports at the University of Canterbury, with a focus on increasing participation among students.

The role involves leading the development of social sport competitions, overseeing the UTSNZ inter-university competition, and providing support and partnership for events and activations on and off-campus.

About Our Team

The UC Rec & Sport team is committed to delivering positive and holistic sport and recreation programmes to the student community. We work collaboratively across the full Rec&Sport team and across multiple university departments to progress our goal of improving wellbeing for UC students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sports strategies to increase participation among students
  • Lead the development of social sport competitions for students

  • Provide support and partnership for events and activations on and off-campus

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
