Job Overview
This Mental Health Specialist for Seniors role is a secondary specialist service for people over 65 years of age living in the Waikato District. The service provides a cohesive integrated approach with medical staff working across both community and inpatient settings.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges of older adults, with a passion for working with this population. You will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical services, working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver seamless care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing quality clinical services to seniors within Te Whatu Ora Waikato boundaries.
  • Ensuring that the appropriate and current knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the area of psychiatry are applied to clinical situations and team decision-making.
  • Participating in clinical partnership to ensure that seniors receive integrated, appropriate, effective, and efficient assessment and care.
