Bakery Team Member

We are seeking a skilled Head Baker to join our team at Country Bake Northland Limited. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of baking experience and/or a Cookery diploma of level 5 or above. They will be responsible for managing a diverse team of bakers and ensuring the highest quality of baked goods.
Key Responsibilities
• Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
• Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
• Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
• Maintaining and developing the baked goods menu, costing and food control plan
• Assisting with selecting and training new staff and leading the baking teams across the group
Requirements
• Proven experience in a baking role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience and/or a Cookery diploma of level 5 or above
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and in a hot kitchen
• Strong attention to detail and quality control of all food and dishes at all stages of preparation, presentation and service
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week, with flexibility to work weekends. They must have the legal work rights to work in NZ or be a NZ or Australian resident.
