Put simply, sustainability is what we doJob DescriptionAbout the RoleThe Platforms Solutions Practice Lead plays a dual role in leading a team of technical specialists and developers while also actively participating in technical tasks. They are responsible for ensuring the effective development and support of our platforms. Approximately 40% of the time will be spent on leadership responsibilities, with the remaining 60% dedicated to direct technical work within the team.At WM New Zealand, we believe in fostering a dynamic work environment where innovation thrives. Here, you'll be part of a collaborative team that values your insights and expertise.Key responsibilities:Team leadership (40%):Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to a team of technical specialists and developersSet clear objectives and performance expectations, conducting regular performance reviews aligned to WM's Performance Enhancement Programme (PEP)Facilitate team meetings and ensure effective communication of priorities and best practicesFoster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team environmentCoordinate team efforts, prioritise projects and support requests, and allocate resources to ensure the timely and efficient completion of tasksAct as a point of contact for escalations and resolve any conflicts or technical challengesTechnical Responsibilities (60%):Engage in the design, development, and optimisation of platforms, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability, scalability, and performanceTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely mannerImplement best practices in platform development and support, ensuring compliance with security and data protection standardsCollaborate with other departments and stakeholders to align platform development with business goalsStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying relevant innovations to enhance the platformContribute to the continuous improvement of the development and support processes, and the team's technical skillsetQualificationsTo be successful in this role you must have:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of experience in a technical role, with a focus on platform development or managementExperience with ERP andCRM platforms advantageousAt least 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory position within a technical teamExceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-makingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of technical professionalsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering resultsAdaptability and a proactive approach to learning new technologiesStrong organisational skills and attention to detailAbility to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvementAdditional InformationWhat's in it for you.Competitive salary commensurate with experienceOpportunities for professional development and career advancement.A supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages work-life balance.The opportunity to make a meaningful impact by contributing to sustainability and environmental conservation efforts.If you're a personable, solution-focused Team Leader with a passion for delivering top-notch support and driving improvements, we want to hear from you Apply now to join our team and contribute to exciting projects that shape our digital future.Please note - we do not always work to fixed closing dates and may start considering applications as they are received so we encourage you to apply early.WM is an EEO employer and promotes drug and alcohol-free workplaces.You must be in New Zealand and hold a current work visa/residency or NZ citizenship.
