About the team
The Talent and Capability team is a centre of excellence responsible for the design and delivery of organisation wide programmes and initiatives that attract, retain, and develop a diverse and high performing workforce.
The team designs and delivers initiatives that shape a dynamic, diverse, and inclusive workplace. This builds the skills of our workforce, drives performance, and enhances organisational culture and capability through onboarding, talent development, leadership development, and learning programs.
The Opportunity
Enjoy stimulating, meaningful work, as you further develop and manage Transpower's remuneration framework, workforce planning strategies, and HR analysis and reporting.
You'll ensure Transpower's compensation practices are contemporary, competitive, and equitable, and that workforce needs are effectively planned for and HR data is accurately analysed with insights reported to support strategic decision-making and the company's reporting requirements as a State-Owned Enterprise. You will enjoy breadth of work as you:

Lead the annual remuneration review process
Review our job grades
Mature our HR analytics and insights capability
Develop our workforce planning capability.

You'll enjoy collaborating closely with our HR Business Partnership team to ensure seamless delivery of programmes, as well as advise and support the business.
What will you bring?
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills will be underpinned by demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels. Your previous experience influencing at executive level through data and evidence will enable you to have productive, fact-based discussions, and produce insightful reporting and recommendations.
To be considered, your CV and cover letter will demonstrate:

5+ years in remuneration, HR analysis, and reporting
Good understanding of remuneration practices, salary structures, workforce planning methodologies, tools, and best practice
Proficiency in HRIS and payroll software as well as advanced excel skills
Good understanding of employment legislation and how this relates to payroll/HR practices
A degree qualification and job evaluation/sizing accreditation

While Wellington is the preferred location for this role, candidates based in a Transpower office location in Auckland, Palmerston North, or Christchurch who are prepared to travel fortnightly to Wellington will be considered.
