The role has a specific emphasis on improving revenue accounting and ensuring these processes are effective, efficient and complied with.
Lifting the financial control environment is of strategic importance.The Senior Financial Accountant completes detailed monthly General Ledger Balance Sheet reconciliations for the Crown and Department together with Trusts entities reporting clearing outstanding items identified to ensure that reported results are complete and accurate.
Validation of this work occurs by means of a multi layered robust and detailed peer review and signoff process.We are already on a journey to become an exemplar Finance & Performance function which other New Zealand organisations will aspire to.
