About the RoleNga Harakeke mai Rongokako – Child & Adolescent Family Services is currently seeking a dedicated mental health registered nurse with both experience and a passion for assisting tamariki and rangatahi facing mental health and addiction challenges.As Clinical Nurse Specialist you will provide specialist nursing care, expertise and leadership in CAFS.
A key focus of the role will be ensuring the ongoing quality of service delivery within the team and providing clinical guidance and support in developing and managing specialised portfolios for tamariki/rangatahi (i.e.
early intervention psychosis).The successful candidate must have a good working knowledge of the Mental Health and Addictions sector, and the broader services and communities that interface with the team.
It is preferred that the successful candidate has strong assessment, formulation and therapy skills and be able to work efficiently independently and collaboratively with other clinicians in our skilled multi-disciplinary team.About the Team/Service/LocationNga Harakeke Mai Rongokako- Child, Adolescent and Family Service (CAFS) provides assessment and treatment services for tamariki, rangitahi, and their whanau, who have severe mental health and addiction issues.
Through a multidisciplinary approach, the service is committed to finding creative ways of providing timely, locally delivered, high quality and effective interventions that maximise mental health and maintain tamariki and rangitahi within their home and educational environment.About YouWith at least five years of experience in mental health and addiction nursing, you will have a proven ability to function in a nursing leadership role and a proven ability to work collaboratively across the health system.

It is essential to have an ability to connect and build trusting relationships with a wide range of people from the community.You will also need the following key attributes and skills:Applicants must have registration with the Nursing Council of New ZealandHold a current full clean NZ drivers' licenceBe able to meet requirements for the children's worker safety checksEvidence of completion of a postgraduate qualification (preferably a PG Diploma) and working towards a Master's degree in Nursing are an essential requirement of the positionCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
