Cardiology Specialist

**About the Role**
We are seeking an experienced Specialist Cardiologist to join our team in Hawke's Bay. As a general cardiologist, you will deliver inpatient cardiology care approximately one in five weeks and outpatient ambulatory services predominantly from our base in Hastings but also at Napier Health Centre and our rural hospitals in Wairoa and Central Hawke's Bay.
The department's facilities allow for echocardiography, CT coronary angiography, cardiac MRI, exercise treadmill testing, ambulatory cardiac monitoring, a diagnostic angiography laboratory, and cardiac device implantation. Proficiency in left and right heart catheterisation studies, temporary pacing wires, and pericardial drains is important.
**The Team/Service/Location**
You will be part of a supportive team consisting of one registrar, a house officer, inpatient cardiology nursing staff, a nurse practitioner, several clinical nurse specialists, and senior cardiology outpatient nurses, two cardiac sonographers, and two cardiac physiologists. We have close ties with allied health services, other specialties within our hospital, as well as with Wellington Regional Hospital, our tertiary centre, which provides a comprehensive package of care including interventional cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery.

**Requirements**
To be considered for this role, you must be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Specialist Cardiologist and must be a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent. You should have proven experience in the following:
- Cardiological procedures
- Supervision and teaching of junior medical staff
- Working within a multidisciplinary team
- Developing and maintaining effective clinical systems
