Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whanau-centred care, and excellence.About the RoleWe're offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced designated senior nursing role with our Mental Health and Addiction Service based at the Health New Zealand Hawke's Bay.As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, the successful applicant will provide specialist nursing care, expertise and leadership that ensures services to whaiora are provided in the most effective and efficient method.
This will be in both direct care delivery and in support to other health professionals and support services in continuum of health care e.g.
primary, non-government organisations (NGO) and secondary sector.The Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide a range of interventions for whaiora presenting with high prevalence mental health and addiction concerns from within the Hawke's Bay community and NGO sectors.
This role will be an effective role model who will demonstrate a high level of clinical competence, professional leadership and provide support, liaison and consultation advice on mental health issues and or complex lifestyle stressors.About the Team/Service/ LocationThis role will sit under the umbrella services of Older Persons Mental Health and Consult Liaison Services.
You will report to the Clinical Nurse Manager of the Service and Professionally to the Director of Nursing.About youWith at least five years of experience in mental health and addiction nursing, you will have a proven ability to function in a nursing leadership role and proven ability to work collaboratively across the health system.
We welcome applications from experienced nurses who can demonstrate a commitment to working across the Hawke's Bay community and in partnership with NGOs and community organisation who serve those affected by mental health and addiction challenges.You must have registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand, hold a current full clean NZ drivers' licence, and meet requirements for the children's worker safety checks.Our ideal candidate will:Be able to work flexibly and collaboratively with a range of professionals,Have strong communication skills,An ability to work autonomously and within the wider team,Have a mature, confident and empathetic outlook is essential for the role,Evidence of completion of a postgraduate qualification (preferably a PG Diploma) and working towards a Clinical Master's degree are an essential requirement of the position.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
