These key functions support the organisations' ability to deliver community-based specialist palliative care services to the Mid-Northland and Far North communities.The Business Development Assistant (BDA) will support the BDM in achieving these goals.The BDA will support the BDM in working with community stakeholders, volunteers, sponsors, supporters, donors, and retail customers to achieve adequate funding for the provision of specialist palliative care services in the Mid and Far North communities.The position is based in Kerikeri, with occasional travel in the wider Northland area as required by the BDM.Key TasksAssist the processes within the Processing Centre and our Retail Shops to maximise income and growth from this revenue stream.Support compliance of operations with all relevant legislative obligations, particularly health & safety, as well as in accordance with Hospice philosophies and policies.Promote and foster a good working environment for the staff and volunteers while ensuring the needs of donors and customers are met.Increase awareness of Hospice services within the community via communications to develop relationships with volunteers, donors, customers, and the general public.Support fundraising and events to maximise income and growth from this revenue stream.Identify and initiate continuous improvement activities.We would love to hear from you if you have:Enthusiasm for promoting Hospice and have a strong heart for Hospice's vision.Experience in retail, marketing, communications, or events is desirable.Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.Empathy with a wide range of cultures and client groups.Advanced verbal and written communication skills.Proven customer relationship and negotiation skills.Proven ability to problem-solve with limited resources.Experience working with volunteers / working in the not-for-profit sector.Experience in meeting Treaty of Waitangi obligations.A Police check is essential.Please apply with your cover letter and CV.Applications close 5pm on Thursday 23rd January 2025
