At the heart is our purpose which pushes us to do all we can to create a better future for our people, our communities, and Aotearoa New Zealand.Our Opportunity:Reporting directly to the Advisor Team Manager amongst a team of People Experience (PX) Consultants, Advisors and PX Coordinators, a large part of your role will be to manage Operational PX activities within the business - you will empower our leaders through offering advice, coaching and guidance throughout the organisation.This is an exciting opportunity for you to bring your HR experience and be exposed to a large corporate environment where you will be working across different business units, building on your experience.There is flexibility for this role to be based in Auckland, Hamilton or Tauranga.
This is a 10 month fixed term position covering a secondment.Key duties include:Provide operational HR support to employees and People Leaders.Work with the wider PX team to deliver large scale HR projects and get involved in strategic work.Provide sound advice to managers on performance coaching, dealing with minor behavioural matters or engaging with team members to identify growth opportunities.Look for and initiate opportunities to contribute to the performance of the business and lift capability and engagement.Support and guide people leaders through the REM review with sound advice and remuneration knowledge.Be well rehearsed in disciplinary matters.Be able to mentor and guide the PX coordinators.We are looking for:Intermediate experience as a HR advisor / P&P Advisor which has given you exposure to different industries and employment law.Fully conversant with employment related legislation and practical experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and change management.Confidence in working through complex ER cases.Union experience preferable but not a must have.Adaptability to shift priorities and work in a fast paced environment.Collaborative team player.Mercury is a learning organisation that is committed to providing you with opportunities to grow and develop that will benefit you now and in the future.
