* This is a job where no two days are ever the same; you will see the full spectrum of psychiatry from enduring mental illness through to trauma, grief and distress * You will work with supportive and caring colleagues within a close-knit team Key responsibilities of the role: * Provide quality clinical services to tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau within Te Whatu Ora Waikato boundaries * As a clinical expert, you will ensure that the appropriate and current knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the area of psychiatry, are applied to clinical situations and team decision making * Participate in clinical partnership to ensure that tāngata whaiora and their whānau receive integrated, appropriate, effective, and efficient assessment and care Click here to view the position description.
About the Team/Service We are the Mental Health and Addictions Service arm of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu - Waikato.
The Mental Health Service for Older Persons (MHSOP) is a secondary specialist service for people over 65 years of age living in the Waikato District.
Older people with functional and organic conditions, co-existing mental health and physical health needs or substance use problems benefit from this service.
The service includes a community team and an inpatient unit (OPR1) and provide a cohesive integrated service with medical staff working across both settings.
The service has established links with aged care facilities.
The service is family and whānau inclusive.
About Hamilton Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts.
