* This is a job where no two days are ever the same; you will see the full spectrum of psychiatry from enduring mental illness through to trauma, grief and distress * You will work with supportive and caring colleagues within a close-knit team Key responsibilities of the role: * Provide quality clinical services to tāngata whaiora/people seeking wellness and their family/whānau within Te Whatu Ora Waikato boundaries * As a clinical expert, you will ensure that the appropriate and current knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the area of psychiatry, are applied to clinical situations and team decision making * Participate in clinical partnership to ensure that tāngata whaiora and their whānau receive integrated, appropriate, effective, and efficient assessment and care Click here to view the position description.
About the Team/Service We are the Mental Health and Addictions Service arm of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu - Waikato.
We provide specialist services for tāngata whaiora who are experiencing serious mental health difficulties.
We strongly encourage family/ whānau involvement in the recovery journey of their loved ones.
As a community-based service, we are open Monday to Friday.
We work with community partners across the Waikato.
About Hamilton Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts.
With around 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and a dedicated outpatient clinic and procedure centre, Waikato Hospital provides comprehensive hospital services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy.
