About Us:
Located beachside in the beautiful Waipu Cove, our large award-winning holiday park is set on 30 acres of land, only 1.5 hours north of Auckland. Camp Waipu Cove is a well-maintained holiday park that continues to set industry standards, including recently picking up the top industry award "Spirit of Hospitality" in 2023. Known for our excellent customer service, our guest reviews have resulted in us receiving Trip Advisors coveted "Traveller's Choice" award 12 years running. Our entire team are passionate about delivering an outstanding customer experience.
What We're Looking For:
As our go-to person for all maintenance issues, you will be responsible for making sure the grounds and facilities always look their best, and are in perfect working order. We're seeking a confident individual who is an all-rounder and brings a blend of practical maintenance skills, a customer-focused attitude, and problem-solving ability. This is a hands-on position requiring you to get your hands dirty and wear a variety of hats. No two days are the same and adaptability is a must. As we operate 365 days of the year, flexibility will be required for rostering purposes, and you can expect to work some weekends and public holidays.

You Will Be Responsible For:
Grounds: All upkeep of camp and reserve grounds including but not limited to, mowing, gardening, spraying, site marking and tree trimming. Rubbish collection involving daily trips to the rubbish tip.
Building and Facilities maintenance: Water blasting, basic plumbing tasks, general building maintenance and repairs (including preventative maintenance), assisting with cleaning of facilities when required.
Customer Experience: Ensuring a customer-centric focus. You will always look for solutions to keep the customer happy.
Duty Manager: The team will look to you for guidance and help to solve issues when acting as designated manager on duty after hours. This could include dealing with customer complaints, technical issues, or fixing a range of equipment and items around the camp.
Supervision of team members: At times you will be required to supervise and train seasonal staff.
The Ideal Applicant Will Have:
Proven experience in a maintenance/groundsperson role, possibly within the hospitality, accommodation, school or aged-care sectors.
Basic plumbing and building maintenance skills are essential, as is experience in operating ride-on mowers.
A reasonable level of fitness as heavy lifting and physical work will be required.
Initiative and a can-do attitude, along with strong organisational and communication skills.
A mature disposition and the confidence to make decisions. Team members will look to you for direction when issues arise.
Competence with computers. You will be required to use our cloud-based PMS system. If you are tech-savvy in general, this will be a bonus.
A friendly and positive personality.
A full clean driver's license is essential.
Full training will be provided to equip you for a successful transition into this important role.
