Compliance Manager, Electricity Grid - (fixed term 8-months)Great fixed term role that will see you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Transpower's compliance with industry standards and foster a culture of quality Transpower is the owner and operator of the National Grid.
At the heart of the electricity sector, we transport high voltage electricity from where it is generated to large electricity users and the distribution businesses that deliver it to homes and businesses nationwide.

About the team Transpower's Quality & Compliance group ensures top-tier standards for commissioning, quality, and compliance across the grid.
By collaborating with internal teams and external partners, they achieve asset management goals and support equipment installation, commissioning, and de-commissioning.
The team develops frameworks and guidelines to enhance processes, conducts system assurance, monitors grid compliance, manages breaches, and facilitates asset capability changes.
They establish quality systems, assess incidents, risks, and non-conformances, and manage investigations and corrective actions.
Their ultimate goal is to support our asset guardians and deliver effective outcomes to stakeholders.
With the group, our Grid Compliance team ensures that as Grid Owner Transpower meets statutory and regulatory requirements by implementing robust processes and systems to exchange asset capability information across our Grid Divisions, with System Operations, Customers, and Service Providers, in compliance with the Electricity Industry Participation Code (EIPC).
They identify compliance risks and drive process and system improvements to mitigate and prevent further risks and breaches of the EIPC.
About the Opportunity As Grid Compliance Manager you will play a pivotal role in ensuring Transpower's compliance with industry standards and foster a culture of quality.
This dynamic position involves owning critical business systems, managing key performance indicators, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
This role will see you managing investigations, conducting root cause analyses, and driving improvement programs.
Acting as the crucial link between the Grid Owner and System Operator, as manager you will facilitate effective information flow to support the transmission network's growth and operation.
This fixed term position offers professional growth opportunities and the chance to make a significant impact on the country's transmission infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing grid owner obligations under the Electricity Industry Participation Code (EIPC)Overseeing the management of Asset Capability Information (ACI) and Commissioning Activity Tracker (CAT) systemsManaging the provision of grid configuration and outage files for input into the FTR Market auction process.As Grid Compliance Manager you will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and ensuring the highest standards of compliance across the grid.
What will you bring? With a relevant background in quality, compliance and standards you will have a sound understanding of the electricity industry's nature and design.
Your comprehensive knowledge of the regulatory environment within the electricity industry will underpin your proven experience in internal compliance, investigating power system events or asset management issues, and reporting.
We are seeking strong relationship management, influencing, and communication skills, with demonstrable leadership abilities and a track record of driving value outcomes in a complex, regulated environment.
You will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify critical information and navigate ambiguity effectively and must have sound practical technical experience.
A Tertiary qualification in engineering, STEM or an equivalent field is required.
