Whatukura-Strategic Matauranga Māori Advisor- Digital and Community Engagement Service, Starship Child Health * Full time, fixed term (12 months) * Based in Greenlane Clinical Centre, Tāmaki Makaurau Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity We have an excellent opportunity for a Māori expertise to work as a Whatukura-Strategic Matauranga Māori Advisor for a 12-month fixed term, full-time position.
Starship's Digital and Community Engagement (D&CE) service is actively evolving to support a sustainable service that gives effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and prioritises Māori health equity.
As a workforce that has embedded the principles of manaakitanga, whakaute and whakamana ngā mātāwaka through kaitiakitanga of those who experience inequities, particularly Pacific Peoples.
We support digital and community engagement across the breadth of Starship's services and Te Toka Tūmai with a focus on Haumarutanga and Pae ora of mokopuna and whanau.
Starship DCE supports the development of clinical guidance to clinical excellence in health care for mātai arotamariki (paediatrics), to reflect kaupapa Māori views of health and wellbeing and incoporate mātauranga Māori, whānau, hapū and iwi expertise, to provide national accessibility digitally across Aotearoa and Internationally.
The primary purpose of the Whatukura – Senior Advisor Mātauranga Māori role is to build strategic relationshops with Māori, embed mātauranga Māori into our areas of work and Advise, guide and support the development of critical frameworks and methodologies that will be used to investigate, analyse, review and provide recommendations that give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Māori health equity and others Please refer to the position description here.

You will build sustainable relationships and partnerships across the organisation and have established relationships with Māori communities and experts.
A passion for working in a kaupapa Māori and Te Ao Māori environment is essential.
You will have an excellent grasp of Te Reo Māori and mātauranga Māori.
The ideal candidate for this role will: * Have 2-5 years of experience in matauranga Māori Advisory roles or equivalent to te reo Māori me ōna Tikanga specialist Experience commissioning research and or evaluation projects * Have an excellent grasp of te reo Māori and deeply connected with te ao Māori and implementing matauranga Māori in the workplace and education settings.
* Demonstrate a deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi provisions in action as well as providing implementation advice and team development * Have a commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori * Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, able to express compelling ideas concisely.
* Hold a post-graduate qualification in Indigenous studies or other relevant subjects.
