Job Description

The Director of Ngā Wai a Te Tūī will lead this Research Centre, contributing to meeting the objectives of the Unitec Research Strategy. This leadership position involves working collaboratively across the organisation to deliver the vision and strategic priorities of Unitec.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Research Centre, driving kaupapa Māori and Indigenous research initiatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including Māori communities, organisations, and industry partners
  • Engage in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A Doctoral qualification
  • Competency in Te Reo Māori and tikanga Māori
  • Evidence of active engagement in building diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplaces/environments
  • Extensive research project management experience
  • Proven track record of working with Māori and Māori enterprise
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in the tertiary education environment
  • Proven track record in delivering results in a commercial/business environment
