Add expected salary to your profile for insightsPermanent / Fulltime (40 hours)Competitive remuneration according to your experienceMahitahi Trust is a not-for profit organisation who deliver kaupapa led Maori services across health, education, social, employment and housing via integrated services based on Nga Tikanga Maori (Maori cultural beliefs and practices).Te mahi turanga | About the roleThe Human Resource Officer (Generalist) works as part of a team responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, developing and implementing performance management systems, designing workforce development programmes, and providing expert HR advice.Responsibilities:Recruitment & Onboarding – Support and oversee end-to-end hiring, collaborating with managers to attract and integrate top talent.Performance Management – Support and implement performance frameworks, support leadership with reviews, and drive employee growth.Workforce Development – Identify training needs and deliver programmes to enhance skills and career progression.HR Policies & Compliance – Ensure policies align with legal requirements, providing expert guidance on HR matters.Employee Relations – Support and address grievances, resolve conflicts, and foster a supportive work environment.Engagement & Culture – Support and lead initiatives to boost employee satisfaction, retention, and workplace culture.HR Records & Documentation – Maintain accurate records, support audits, and ensure data integrity in HR systems.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Proven experience in a generalist HR role.Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.Familiarity with Elmo Cloud HR and Payroll software is preferred but not essential.Understanding of te reo Maori me ona Tikanga Maori is preferred.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.Strong organisational and time-management skills.Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.Full and valid NZ Driver's Licence.Consent and undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.Consent to being NZ Police and/or Justice vetted.Provide an up-to-date CV and cover letter detailing why you are interested in this role and the skills and experience you bring to the role.Application Process:Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as a human resources officer?Which of the following Microsoft Office products are you experienced with?How many years' experience do you have in generalist HR?How much notice are you required to give your current employer?Do you have a current New Zealand driver's licence?
