Anaesthetic Technicians/Assistants are responsible for assisting the anaesthetist in preparation, planning, and implementation of anaesthesia.About the Team/Service/LocationHutt Hospital has an eight-theatre Operating Suite also providing support to several remote areas including ED, Radiology, MRI, CT, and Endoscopy/Fluoroscopy and mental health.
The hospital is the main centre for five tertiary regional and sub-regional services, which include Plastics, Maxillofacial and Burns Services including multi-disciplinary teams along with services for Obstetrics and Gynaecological, ENT, General, Orthopaedics, and Dental Services.
This is a fast-paced, quality-driven, patient-focused environment, with a dynamic team.About youThe successful candidate:Demonstrates a sound knowledge of perioperative and anaesthesia practice.Is able to competently assist the anaesthetist during the intraoperative period.Is competent in airway management.Has an awareness of aseptic technique and is able to assist the anaesthetist with invasive procedures (including arterial lines, central lines, and regional anaesthesia).Is able to recognise emerging complications of anaesthesia and surgery and respond appropriately.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the weaving of wellness.
