As a Theatre Admin Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our theatre facilities.
The Job Description
This is a permanent position for 80 hours per fortnight located at Wakefield Hospital in Newtown, Wellington. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with medical specialists to manage theatre bookings
- Facilitating additional lists and investigations to ensure preoperative requirements are met
- Managing operating lists and computer system entries
- Fostering relationships with consultants and their office staff to enhance theatre utilisation
- Communicating effectively with hospital departments and external customers to ensure patient and consultant satisfaction
- Assisting with the induction and orientation of new consultants
- Contributing to general administration tasks and efficient running of the theatre suite
- Ensuring compliance with codes of conduct, policies, health and safety standards
- Actively participating in quality improvement and risk management
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. You should have strong communication skills, both written and oral, as well as exceptional time and organisational management abilities. Proficiency in producing accurate information and working under pressure is also required. Leadership capabilities and a collaborative team player approach are necessary for success in this role.
