Location: Based at Our Lady's Home of Compassion (OLHOC), Island Bay, Wellington, and other locations as requiredFull-Time Position – New roleThe Sisters of Compassion Group (SOCG) is seeking a dedicated Mission Delivery Lead to oversee all of our front-line mission operations and services.This is a new position, working alongside another new role; the Mission Partnerships, Education & Engagement Lead. It represents an exciting opportunity to support and lead our established front-line mission teams, and to plan and develop further missional and service opportunities.About the RoleThe Missions Delivery Lead will be an integral member of the Senior Leadership team. They will be based at Our Lady's Home of Compassion in Island Bay with overall responsibility for our front-line mission teams and group operations. These include Our Lady's Home of Compassion (our 'Urban Monastery' welcoming pilgrims, offering retreats, meeting facilities and accommodation, the Cloister Café, Suzanne Aubert Heritage Centre, Chapel and Resting Place); the Compassion Soup Kitchen/Suzanne Aubert Compassion Centre on Tory Street, Wellington; Compassion Housing across multiple locations in Upper Hutt, Horowhenua and Whanganui; and the Old Convent and Hato Hohepa Church at Hiruharama, Jerusalemon the Whanganui River. The Mission Delivery Lead is responsible for mission strategic delivery, planning and related projects and ensuring our services are effective, sustainable and aligned with our missional ethos and goals.Responsibilities include:Overall responsibility for the operational management and delivery of current mission services across all entities and subsidiaries.Mission Strategic Oversight - proactively anticipating future needs, trends, and opportunities so that we can adapt, prepare and deliver services that meet contemporary needs and continue the Gospel mission of Meri Hohepa Suzanne Aubert, and the Sisters of Compassion.Provide visionary leadership to the front-line mission delivery teams, guiding and supporting team members to achieve shared goals, drive impactful initiatives, and uphold our mission, values and ethos.Responsibility for Group Operations, including risk, legal compliance, privacy, health, safety and wellbeing, safeguarding, IT, procurement, people and culture and performance.Manage operational budgets for all front line mission services and functional teams within the Mission Delivery Team.Monitor and report on financial and non-financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability. Ensuring targets are met, and reviewing systems and processes with a commitment to constant improvement to ensure we are serving our community effectively and stewarding our resources wisely.Who We Are Looking ForWe are looking for someone with proven leadership, management and operations experience with a commitment to Catholic/Christian teaching and practices. This will be supported by a strong understanding of and affinity with the mission, values and ministries of the Sisters of Compassion Group, as a faith-based organisation seeking to welcome and serve those in our community and to inspire and motivate others to do the same.You will be someone who understands and can lead the team in the provision of hospitality (manaakitanga), compassion, and service in the way of Christ as exemplified by Meri Hohepa Suzanne Aubert.Experience and capabilityPassion for and alignment with the mission, values, and ministry of the Sisters of Compassion.Considerable leadership and operational experience in Christian-mission/service-based organisations.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in building a strong team culture and driving collaboration across teams and entities.You will bring an understanding and commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi, knowledge of Te Reo Maori and Tikanga Maori in day-to-day operations.Experience or working knowledge of Hospitality, Facilities Management, Risk, Legal Compliance, H&S, Safeguarding, People, Culture and Performance, Privacy, IT, AV, and Procurement.The ability to cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the Co-CEs, Senior Management Team, Boards, managers, staff, Sisters, volunteers, mission partners, and to work with Kaupapa Maori colleagues to nurture relationships with Tangata Whenua and iwi based groups and foster partnership.Ability to work across: faith-based priorities, accommodation, retreat and meeting facilities, provision of housing, refugee support, partnerships to provide social services (including food security priorities), community engagement, Café management, social enterprise and vocational training, and volunteer support.Able to work and lead with integrity in a high trust environment and handle sensitive matters confidentially and with care.5+ years mission, operations and HR/People management experience.Why Join Us?As a new role, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape and lead a mission-first culture where our people deliver an experience and encounter that extends beyond a transaction; providing compassion and care in daily interactions for all who use our premises and facilities, and for all those we serve.
