We are seeking a dynamic Data Analytics Specialist to spearhead our data analytics efforts and inspire a data-driven culture across the organization.
The city of Auckland and the Port of Auckland have grown together on the Waitemata and Manukau Harbour for more than 175 years.
Port of Auckland is part of the special character of our city and plays a vital role in our economy with nearly three-quarters of the port's inbound cargo serving the Auckland and Upper Waikato region.
Our Data Analytics Specialists are vital members of the D&A team, working collaboratively to strategically design and implement end-to-end data-driven solutions.
By using your people and analytical skills, you will partner with the business as a data expert, gathering their requirements and working with them towards the development of data assets to support informed decision-making.
By joining us you can look forward to varied days including: Designing, building, and optimising data pipelines with opportunities to work in high code and low code environments.
Developing and implementing innovative data solutions to drive performance and strategic initiatives.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify key metrics and deliver impactful reports for various business units such as operations, commercial, people & culture.
Serving as the go-to expert for data interpretation and data storytelling, making complex information accessible for all.
Contributing to documentation and knowledge share uplifting the maturity of data insights capability at the Port.
Contributing to a strong culture within the immediate team and wider port whanau.
Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and automation through data analytics.

Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to derive insights from large, complex datasets.
Excellent communication skills, able to simplify technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with data visualization tools and techniques to bring data stories to life.
Passionate about fostering a data-first mindset across the organization.
