The Opportunity - Te turanga: In this role as Data and Integration Lead, you will support TVNZ's technology strategy and accelerate to our desired technology future state. As the technical leader in this function, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing solutions in TVNZ's data integration landscape and ensure they are fit-for-purpose and future proof.
You will be leading an elite team of integration developers and be working with members from other internal functions such as Business (stakeholders), Architecture, Product Owner, Infrastructure, Security etc. You will also need to work with and manage vendors as required by projects from time to time. Your wise technical insights will provide strong influence on the decision making and ensure it aligns with our strategy, and your superb people skills will blend and set you in quickly with comfort.
In this role, you will design and execute the solution as well as have business acumen in commercial context and see the big picture. Implementing a good solution is paramount to you, and you also understand that sometimes compromises need to be taken and a sound interim state will give us more room to plan for a solid future state. Your problem-solving and analytical skills will bring key value to assess these challenges and help to drive the outcomes.
TVNZ has committed to a digital-first future for our technology; therefore you will be working on cloud-first data integration solutions and follow core pillars of well-architected framework. That said, there will be times when end-of-life legacy integrations need migrating, and you are expected to take the responsibilities, be fearless, determined, and innovative when modernising legacy solutions.
To be successful, we are looking for: Proven experience in leading development teams, mentoring developers, and providing technical guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.Strong technical lead background in C#/.NET development is desired, in-depth knowledge of different development paradigms such as OOP, DDD, TDD etc.Seasoned developer in data space with extensive experience in Python and SQL.Strong experience with Databricks, including design, build and optimise notebooks for data pipelines, ETL processes, and working with big data frameworks. Working with Delta Lake to manage structured and unstructured data, ensuring high performance and reliability.Deep understanding of Integration Patterns, standards, and protocols (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML etc), experience with Enterprise async messaging systems such as MQ, Kafka, Service bus etc.Great experience with Cloud integration and data platforms, Microsoft Azure preferred. Hands-on experience on Azure service offerings such as but not limited to Azure Function App, Data Lake Storage, Storage Account, Cosmos DB, Azure Logic App, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event hub/Event Grid, APIM, ADF.Appreciate the value of infrastructure as code (IaC), CICD and automation, hands-on experience authoring and configuring automation pipelines to drive efficient code build and deployment.Knowledge in on-premises integration technologies such as MS SQL SSIS, Biztalk, experience of their migration to modern solution in the cloud (preferred using C#) is valued.Previous experience in Agile development environment, understand the importance of Agile ceremonies and have a practical way of maximising team through using Agile methodology.Have the right business acumen to understand what the priority is, appreciate it is inevitable to face resource, commercial and time constraints meanwhile meeting the deadline.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including architects, product managers, and business stakeholders.Join us in this exciting role where your expertise will not only shape the future of TVNZ but also the media industry at large.
