Casual Application Closes 31 Jan 2025 Waikato - Hamilton City Education Administrator Peer Tutors are needed at our City, Rotokauri and Hamilton Gardens campuses.
The role of Peer Tutor is to assist students who are having difficulties understanding the content area of their course work.
(You must be recommended by your Wintec Programme Manager or tutor and have good knowledge of the course area you are tutoring.)
The position is casual and hours of work will vary depending on your availability.
You will need the following: · A minimum of one year's successful tertiary study · A willingness to assist other students and an ability to communicate effectively · Respond promptly to contacts by SLS staff to arrange timely tutoring sessions · Assist students to become independent learners · Be reliable and keep tutoring commitments · Identify the student's needs through questions, observation and communication · Abide by the Code of Conduct for Students, Peer Tutors and Student Mentors Appointment of a peer tutor does not guarantee your services will be required · Work is allocated when student requests a peer tutor in their subject area.
