Situated in the beautiful rural countryside, Matarau School is approximately 20 minutes from Whangārei, just outside Te Kamo, in Te Tai Tokerau.
We are seeking an inspiring principal who will champion our values and foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all. Our school is grounded in the belief that education should nurture independent, self-managed learners who are excited to come to school each day, knowing they are valued, heard, and supported.

- Strengthens ties with local iwi/hapū - Ngati kahu o Torongare are tangata whenua - promotes Te Ao Māori, and upholds the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- An effective manager of resources, budgets, property, and personnel, ensuring the school runs smoothly and is well-resourced for the future.
