Mercure Auckland Queen Street is a small 96 bedroom property located on the top of Queen Street in Auckland CBD. We are seeking applications for a full-time Housekeeping Manager and are offering a salary of $63,000. This role is perfect for an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor or Assistant Housekeeping Manager to step up to the next level in your career.

In this role you will oversee the efficient running of the housekeeping department, ensuring exceptional standards for both guests and team members.
This role requires strong, supportive leadership and a readiness to work alongside the team as needed, including availability on weekends and some public holidays.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with staff scheduling, managing staffing levels based on occupancy, service quality, and budget considerations.Oversee the ordering of guest amenities, cleaning supplies, printing materials, and office stationery.Conduct daily operational briefings with the team.Support timely room turnover to meet guest expectations.Assign daily tasks to housekeeping staff, monitor performance and room cleanliness standards, and provide hands-on support as needed.Conduct training sessions for new staff and refresher courses for current team members.Supervise the housekeeping team, ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures.Promote staff development through training, coaching, and mentorship.Ensure adherence to the department's budget, with strict control over costs. Qualifications: A genuine commitment to guest satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills.At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in housekeeping within a hotel.Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.Service-oriented approach with professional presentation skills.Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.Valid work visa or permanent residency in New Zealand, we cannot hire anyone on a accredited visa.
