Business Development Manager – Freight Forwarding

THE COMPANY... Located out by the airport my client offers experienced freight forwarding and logistics expertise dedicated to ensuring the transportation of its customers cargo is seamless. Whether it is freight forwarding, shipping or transportation, their team has the knowledge, integrity and reliability to meet even the most unique shipping needs. They have a large network of global partners; shipping lines and airlines and they are currently on a growth trajectory to recruit a BDM to further develop business revenue and gross profit. THE OPPORTUNITY... As part of the global sales team, reporting to the Sales Director, you will be responsible for developing the footprint in Air and Ocean freight forwarding and transportation services in the NZ and Aust. Market. You will develop and sell customised freight solutions for customers specialising predominantly in sea freight. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance your career in this growing organisation. You will bring your exceptional business development skills to this role to build momentum and drive revenue and profit within targeted areas of the business where the company is seeking growth, sea freight will be a focus. ESSENTIALLY… Key responsibilities include: You will sell the company's services in line with the company strategy so that it will be profitable and operationally structured to ensure a reliable and value-added product offering for their network and local officeAchieve sales targets and execute company sales strategyMaintain customer relationships and expand the current customer baseDefine and implement a sales action planIdeally include: A good understanding of the industry, in particular, international air and ocean freight shipping specifics and related cost and revenue driversAbility to work autonomously and proactivelyStrong interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skillsProven track record of sales in a similar role in the freight forwarding industryProficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook THE NEXT STEP...
