Our finance team need a hand, we're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to share the load and lead the team.About the roleEstablished role, great organisation with strong family values in a fast-growing horticultural business in Katikati – yes right here in the beautiful Bay of PlentyAs our financial controller, you'll focus on these responsibilities:Preparation of monthly and annual consolidated and statutory financial statements.Responsibility for accounting systems such as Xero Accounting, including treasury management.Preparation and filing income tax, GST and other returns required by the Inland Revenue Department and ACC, in conjunction with our external accountants.Managing payroll and financial administration staff.Managing and reporting on financial matters to operational staff to maximise operational efficiencies and productivity.Responsibility for internal financial control systems and risk management procedures.Working closely with the Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Business Unit Managers in managing and preparing budgets and forecasts.Actively participate in monthly and annual strategic planning/forecasting/budgeting processes.Provide full and accurate forecasting and budgeting proposals for the various business units.Provide financial support and expertise as a financial business partner to the Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Business Unit Managers on financial awareness and drivers relevant for their operations.Develop best practice financial accounting and control procedures and continually review the process and procedures to maximise impact and efficiency.Prepare capital reviews as required by the Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Business Unit Managers.So, Who Are You & What Is Your Profile?To be successful in this role you'll need to be a fully qualified accountant who is an experienced people leader, who has been involved in improvement projects. Also, you'll be the type of personality who is able to make decisions and take ownership of their area, quickly building trust and respect with your team and the CFO.
