Mō te tūranga | About the role

This newly created, semi-autonomous role will lead HDC's health, safety, and wellbeing strategy, ensuring compliance while promoting and embedding a safe and supportive workplace culture.

Tō Kōrero| About You

Reporting to the GM Communications & Corporate Services you will bring the following skills and experience to this critical role:

  • Extensive experience and passion for health, safety, and wellbeing in workforce environments.
  • Proven success as an inspiring leader, able to build trust, credibility, and influence across all levels.
  • Deep knowledge of current health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Proven risk management experience, supported by a track record of developing and promoting sound routines across all levels of an organisation.
  • Comfortable with and appreciative of accountability for budgeting, performance, and professional development.
  • Confident and clear communicator, adept at engaging across all levels of an organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative approach, with solid experience in leading and contributing to project management initiatives.
  • An understanding and commitment to Te Ao Māori and the principles of partnership.
