About Us: CanTing is where smart-casual dining meets upscale elegance. Led by renowned restaurateur Nic Watt, we offer a modern take on traditional Chinese and Asian cuisine in an environment that blends culture, innovation, and style. Our restaurant provides an immersive culinary experience, from the classic lazy-susan tables to our chef's counter, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Waitemata Harbour.
With a spacious open-plan dining area that seats 122 guests, including elevated semi-private spaces, we create the perfect setting for unforgettable meals. Whether it's lunch, dinner, or our popular weekend yum cha, CanTing will be open 7 days a week, offering impeccable service day and night.
We're expanding our team and looking for talented, passionate individuals to join our front-of-house crew— from senior management to entry-level roles.
Your Role: As part of our front-of-house team, you'll be the face of CanTing, creating memorable experiences for every guest that walks through our doors. We're looking for people who are enthusiastic about hospitality, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a customer-first mindset. What You'll Do: Welcome and engage guests with a warm, professional demeanor.Provide tailored recommendations and offer insights into our menu.Accurately take food and beverage orders, ensuring exceptional service throughout the dining experience.Deliver attentive, efficient service, handling guest needs and preferences with care.Manage guest feedback and complaints with poise and problem-solving skills.Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.Continuously enhance your product knowledge, including attending in-house or off-site trainings.Present bills and handle payments with precision. What You Bring: Previous experience in Front of House, Host, or Bar roles in a fast-paced, upscale environment.A passion for hospitality and creating standout guest experiences.A background in Chinese or Asian cuisine is a major plusStrong communication and teamwork skills.Legal work eligibility and current residency in New Zealand.The ability to work well under pressure and uphold our high service standards.Speaking Chinese?
