Treasury is responsible for the management of WNZL’s balance sheet, including funding, liquidity, capital, interest rate risk and foreign exchange risk. It is essential that the WNZL Treasury function operates in a manner that is consistent with WNZL’s strategy, policies and frameworks, relevant delegations, the WNZL risk appetite statement and applicable laws and regulations. WNZL operates in a highly regulated and proactive risk aware environment where we work collaboratively to ensure we develop a proactive risk culture.
**Mō te Tūranga | About the Role**
The Associate Director Middle Office (ADMO) is a new role which will initially report to the Chief Operating Officer - WNZL Treasury (Treasury COO). The Treasury COO is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational compliance of all non-financial risk within Treasury.
The Middle Office has been created to both centralise work currently done in other parts of the bank and to operationalise further automation within Treasury. The ADMO will be responsible for supporting all facets of the Front Office and in particular:
- Setting up of the Middle Office including transfer of work from Sydney to Auckland
- Getting in at the ground level of further automation relating to reporting, straight-through processing, and systemising models for actual and forecasted risk and liquidity management
- Assisting with automated validation of metrics; and
- Ensuring all transactions are captured in relevant systems correctly.
**Na tōu rourou | What will you bring to the role?**
- At least 5 years’ hands-on experience working in a Treasury middle office or similar role
- Expert knowledge of Treasury and middle office systems such as Murex, etc
- Strong knowledge of balance sheet, funding and liquidity management practices and hedging instruments.
The ADMO role has a high dependency on others including developing close working relationships with members of the Front Office and requires engagement with a wide variety of stakeholders across the business. This role requires a change management mindset and you will have a can-do attitude, enjoy working with others and developing solutions and will also use your system and knowledge skills and provide valuable insight and guidance where any gap is apparent.
