**Building Review Officer**
At Te Kaunihera aa Takiwaa o Waikato (Waikato District Council), we're more than just a council - we're a dynamic and diverse community serving key towns Raglan, Huntly, Ngaaruawaahia, Tuakau and Te Kauwhata, along with smaller settlements being Gordonton, Matangi, Tamahere, Meremere, Port Waikato and Pookeno.
We're on the lookout for a Building Review Officer to become a key player within our high-performing Building Review team. Nestled in one of New Zealand's fastest-growing districts, this is your chance to step into a role that promises both challenge and growth.
**What are we looking for?**
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the construction industry and is up to date with the latest trends.
Do you have:
- National Diploma in Building Control Surveying (Level 5) or equivalent
- Strong technical knowledge - you know your lintels from your joists
- A sharp eye for detail - can read building plans effortlessly
- Great people skills to deal professionally with our customers, stakeholders and contractors
- Understanding of compliance and legislation and the ability to transform jargon with ease
**What will you do?**
- Manage Residential and Commercial building consents
- Ensure that new consents are meeting the obligations of the Building Act/Code and necessary regulations
- Working and supporting customers to meet the required standards for all legislation and legal requirements
- Keep up to date with the latest changes in the construction sector
- Contribute to an awesome and supportive team environment
