**The opportunity**

Working in the heart of the government, you will join a tight knit and trusted team who support Hon Simeon Brown as part of the 54th Parliament - and you as you wrap your head around this fast-paced role

As a Private Secretary - Administration, your new role will see you provide a range of administrative support to the Minister and their team. This is a part time position for 24 hours per week; while there is some flexibility around the schedule of these hours, our preference would be for 4 hours per day between 9am and 2pm Monday through Thursday, and full day between 8am - 5pm on Fridays.

This is an events-based position based on a 3-year parliamentary term. The likely appointment range for this role is $63,561 - 73,870 per annum (pro rata to reflect part time hours).

**What skills or experience would I need to be successful?**

You might be a recent university student looking to kick start your career in Parliament, or an experienced administrator who is looking for a unique and meaningful role that fits around your other commitments. If you can bring some of the below, we would love to hear from you
- Demonstrated experience providing administration, secretarial, and/or reception services
- Proficiency in Microsoft programmes, you will bring your speedy typing skills and an eye for detail
- A passion for politics and a desire to build your career in the heart of government
- A good sense of humour with the ability to have a laugh and work both closely with your team and autonomously as needed
- An ability to work and problem solve at pace, with maturity and a high level of resilience An understanding of the machinery of government, OIAs, and Written or Oral Parliamentary questions would be advantageous
