**The opportunity**:
We are seeking an experienced administrator to join the Office of the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Christopher Luxon. As a Private Secretary (Administration), you will be responsible for providing a range of administrative support to the Prime Minister and his team.

In this role you will be the ‘face of the office’, greeting guests with warmth, polish and professionalism and providing a seamless visitor experience. You will carry out a range of critical administrative duties to keep things running smoothly.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

- Providing an excellent reception service to incoming visitors
- Answering phone calls from members of the public
- Ensuring the Prime Minister’s office suite and reception space are consistently presented to a high standard
- Maintaining kitchenettes, meeting spaces and stationery supplies within the office
- Supporting the Prime Minister’s Correspondence Unit as required
- Carrying out general administration duties such as travel bookings to support teams across the office.

This high impact role offers the opportunity for an experienced administrator to work at the heart of the Government in a genuinely unique, fast-paced, and exciting work environment. This is an events-based position based on a 3-year parliamentary term. The likely appointment range for this role is $63,561 - $73,870 per annum, with starting salaries reflecting relevant skills and experience, as well as internal parity.

**What skills or experience would I need to be successful?**

Leveraging your previous administration experience, you will be accustomed to proactively assisting and anticipating the needs of the wider team. Proactive, warm and a natural communicator, you will be known for your exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to put visitors to the office at ease. Flexible and positive in nature, you will be someone who ‘mucks in’ - no task will be too big or too small.

We expect your background will reflect:

- Experience providing administration, secretarial and/or reception services
- Proficiency with Microsoft software, speedy typing skills and an eye for detail
- An ability to self-manage your workload with maturity and a high level of resilience
- A high level of discretion and professionalism, with a demonstrated ability to manage highly confidential information
- An understanding of the machinery of government and/or previous customer service experience would be advantageous.
