About the role
We are looking for a Principal Advisor-Compliance Lead to join the Compliance team within the Legal, Monitoring and Compliance group. You will support the Compliance Manager on leadership matters as required, be responsible for delivery of significant projects to improve industry compliance and take the lead on complex compliance issues.
You will provide guidance and support to management, employees, and stakeholders on compliance matters, interpreting complex regulatory requirements into practical and actionable strategies.
Our work is varied and diverse, with opportunities to drive change across the electricity sector to improve the lives of New Zealanders. You can expect to deal with a wide range of participant types on interesting matters including market operation and activities, grid assets, reconciliation, information management and participant audits.
About you

**To be successful in this role you will have the following**:

- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Experience and skills in investigation and analysis of complex regulatory compliance issues
- Demonstrable ability to interpret legal, financial and regulatory matters
- Excellent self management, prioritisation and time management skills
- Knowledge of the electricity sector or a regulatory industry would be an advantage
