ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a growing MSP and a one-stop technology partner. They are experts in supplying IT Hardware, Software & Cloud Solutions for businesses around New Zealand.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior System Engineer you will help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot managed service & professional service clients. Managing and monitoring all MSP client systems using our client’s RMM platform. You will be delivering mission critical client infrastructure and ensuring high levels of availability, performance and security, as well as achieving set client SLA.

DUTIES
- Provide all Senior levels of client support
- Managing and monitoring all installed client systems and infrastructure
- Ensuring the highest levels of client systems and infrastructure availability - achieving client set SLA
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
- Implementing and supporting VOIP and SOIP solutions
- Attending training courses on topic’s deemed necessary (such as M365)
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
- Project analyst & consultancy for clients with support of Technical Relationship Managers, Technical Analysts, Operations Manager and CTO.
- Implement client projects, train clients, document solutions and organize handover & on-boarding.
- Onsite & call-outs - break-fix and support

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Azure.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including routing, switching, and firewall configuration.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and services, including Azure or AWS.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, stakeholders and customers.
- Strong project management skills and experience managing projects from planning to deployment.
- Experience with security best practices and compliance standards.
