**Job no**: 593885
**Work type**: Full Time - Permanent
**Categories**: Human Resources
Downer has been designing, building and sustaining New Zealand’s infrastructure for over a century and is a leading provider of integrated services in Australia and New Zealand.
With over 10,000 employees in New Zealand, we work alongside some of New Zealand’s biggest businesses, councils and government agencies.
**Your future starts here**:
Reimagine what the future of Aotearoa, New Zealand looks like years from now, and we would have been right there constructing that journey, including the path you took to get there.
We are planning, responding, and building sustainable communities where everyone can thrive. But we can't do it alone. We are looking for people ready to bring their difference to our team and help us create a better future for everyone.
**About the role**:
With substantial growth in the pipeline, we have an exciting opportunity for an Offshore Talent Whānau Advisor to join our team in this newly created role in either Auckland or Christchurch.
We are offering a rare opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join our national award winning In-Work Success programme as an In-Work Success Advisor for our migrant workforce.
Working closely with both our Corporate Social Outcomes and our Recruitment teams, you will be the dedicated advocate for our migrant workforce offering pastoral care support as they transition to their new lives in New Zealand.
You’ll work with the individuals and their managers to design and facilitate support, matched to individual needs. This will include keeping in regular contact, for up to 12 months to ascertain progress against support needs and facilitate access to relevant community-based services.
**About you**:
You’ll be a strong advocate for migrants who require support as they transition to Kiwi life and have considerable experience successfully working with individuals from all walks of life.
You’ll couple this with excellent communication skills, be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to attention to detail, have great time management skills, a willingness to get stuck in whatever is required, and be flexible in your working approach while developing relationships at all levels.
**Alongside your experience - you will be able to demonstrate**:
Experience in a similar coordination or client-facing customer service-based role where you can use your transferrable skills
Can demonstrate where you have built and/or supported networks and connected communities either within a personal or professional capacity
A proven positive solution facilitation approach with strong focus on attention to detail
It would be great if you understood the Immigration Act and NZ Visa requirements, but this is not essential
Knowledge of Tikanga Maori would be advantageous within this role but we can support you with any further development within this area
What Difference can Downer offer you?
Working for a progressive and stable employer, Downer offers more than just the basics you'd expect from a large organisation. Our benefits are designed to develop the whole person, at home and at work - trust us when we say we’ve got you covered. Here’s just a brief insight into some of the many things we can offer you:
A truly competitive remuneration package
Enjoy flexible working, as we take work-life balance so seriously we have a Flexible Working Policy allowing work to work for you
An employee & whanau recognition programme that celebrates and rewards our people and their whanau for the value they bring
A management team that will support your growth with a dedicated personal development plan that is reviewed quarterly, empowering you to take ownership of your career trajectory
Our employee recognition programme celebrates and recognises ($$$) our people for the value they bring
Access to over 50 Training Programs including Leadership Pathways
All the tools of trade you need to successfully perform your role including clothing and merch
A comprehensive employee benefits package through our partners - you will receive a great range of corporate discounts and benefits across banking, insurance, retailers, technology, vehicles, automotive, healthcare, childcare, homeware, dental care, travel, accommodation, gym memberships and more
We also encourage our people to participate in community volunteering initiatives and pay for the time you spend helping to make our community better with Downer's volunteer leave
Supporting our people financially to nominate local causes, charities, and organisations that need a helping hand with our Downer Donate initiative
A dedicated Corporate Social Outcomes team that wraps support around you when you need it most.
We are focused on creating a vibrant community of belonging that pursues diversity, builds inclusion, and creates more equitable opportunities for everyone. You will love being a part of the Downer whānau. Com
