The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provides national leadership to New Zealand's distributed emergency management system. Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

**In this role you will**:

- convert strategic thinking into clear and compelling material fit for purpose and audience
- advise on and actively support NEMA's internal and external engagement
- develop reporting to provide insights to contribute to achieving NEMA's strategy

The purpose of the Business and Performance Unit/Te Wāhanga Whakahaere Umanga is to lead work on the Agency's strategic direction, accountability requirements, organisational planning and performance, and provide general business support across the organisation. As part of the Strategic Enablement Group you will ensure our dynamic and fast-moving organisation is heading in the right direction, has a clear sense of purpose and builds transparency around how we add value.
As part of working within NEMA, there may be a requirement to respond to emergency activations in the event of a national emergency response. This may involve responding to events outside of normal working hours if an emergency response of national significance occurs.

- Proactive, with strong initiative and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with public sector accountability processes and reporting
- Proven experience providing high-quality reports and dashboards
- Experience in persuading, influencing, building and maintaining effective collaborative relationships
- Ability to analyse, interpret, simplify and communicate strategic information
- Ability to communicate (verbal and written) strategic issues clearly and concisely
- Ability to deliver high quality work output under pressure ensuring work gets completed effectively and on time
- Flexibility of approach/thinking, ability to adapt in quick changing circumstances, reliable and resilient
- A relevant tertiary qualification or an equivalent body of knowledge and experience

The mid-point in the salary band for this position is $122,233 including Kiwisaver employer contributions.
