Strategic Finance sits within He Pou Aronui / Organisational Capability and Services, a branch dedicated to supporting Te Tari Taiwhenua to succeed by providing corporate services that help business groups and people within DIA to make the best contribution to New Zealand.
To be successful in this role, you will
- Support the Chief Financial Officer in providing strategic and intellectual leadership as a member of the Finance Leadership Team
- Ensure the effective delivery of the finance strategy and work programme while achieving a reputation for excellence
- Extend the forecast and advice horizon so that Finance and the Executive are aware of, and making decisions for, the long-term sustainability of the Department's finances
- Ensure the Executive Leadership Team and Governance Committees have high-quality insight, advice and reporting on which to make decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve and streamline reporting systems, processes, and practices across the Department
- Develop and drive improvement initiatives to leverage opportunities to build the finance capability across the Department
