The Intelligence, Surveillance and Knowledge (ISK) group leads, co-designs, and develops intelligence, surveillance, and knowledge to inform Public Health strategy and policy, regulation, and monitoring of the health system actions to improve Population and Public Health outcomes and equity.

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
You'll be involve leading a team of technical experts, analysts, and advisors to deliver on the core objectives of the Public Health Evaluation and Impact team. With your people leadership experience and skills, you will be responsible for developing your staff and building their capability and capacity to deliver upcoming work within the team for the future.
Your key responsibility will be to lead the development, planning, and implementation of the Public Health Evaluation and Impact work programme, ensuring that it aligns with similar pieces of work across the Ministry. To achieve this, you will work closely with stakeholders across the Ministry and wider ISK group to identify priority areas and develop impactful strategies that support the Ministry's strategic objectives.
In addition to your programme management responsibilities, you will also be accountable for ensuring that the Public Health Evaluation and Impact team delivers high-quality evaluations of public health interventions and programmes. This will involve leading and directing the team's work in the design and implementation of evaluation frameworks and methodologies, as well as overseeing the analysis and interpretation of data to draw actionable insights and recommendations.
Your expertise in evaluation and impact assessment will be critical to this role, as you will be responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement and learning across the Ministry. You will also work closely with senior leadership to ensure that evaluation findings are effectively communicated and integrated into policy and decision-making processes.
Overall, this is a pivotal leadership role that requires a strong track record of success in managing technical teams, developing and implementing programmes of work, and delivering impactful results.
