The Commercial Delivery Assistant is a key role contributing to and delivering tasks within the procurement lifecycle (plan, source, manage).
This role is part of the Defence Digital Group (DDG) practice within Defence Commercial Services (DCS), which procures ICT related goods and services on behalf of the NZDF. The Practice primarily supports DDG but addresses all of NZDF's ICT supplier sourced requirements.
You will provide accurate and timely assistance in the administration of procurement processes, procedures and systems to ensure organisational effectiveness.
The role is at the foundation level within the Commercial Delivery Team and provides an opportunity for you to grow and develop your career within a strategic procurement environment.

**Please note**: You can choose to work primarily from Trentham, Petone or Wellington CBD. You will need to have flexibility to work from these sites from time to time as required. Once you are trained and established in the role you will have the option to establish a flexible working arrangement including working from home up to two days a week.

You will have strong administrative skills with the ability to organise workflow and determine priorities. Your problem solving abilities, initiative, high attention to detail, numerical skills and professionalism are crucial to your success in this position.

**You will have**:

- Excellent relationship management and communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with a wide range of people;
- The ability to use good judgement and work with mínimal supervision; and
- An interest and willingness to learn about procurement, contract negotiations and contract management.

Experience with SAP and existing knowledge of the procurement environment would be advantageous but it is not essential.

Defence Commercial Services (DCS) is a unit within the wider Joint Defence Services (JDS) Portfolio.
DCS leads and enables the wider NZDF Commercial function; including procurement planning, sourcing, contracting, strategic supplier relationship and contract management.
