We are seeking Advisors to join our Implementation team in the Commissioning and Service Improvement (CSI) unit. In CSI, we deliver improvements to the justice system for a safe and fair Aotearoa.

The roles involve designing and delivering changes to processes, services and information resulting from legislative changes.

On any given day you might:

- Analyse new legislation as it works its way through parliament and research what impacts it might have on how the Ministry delivers services to the public
- Develop and deliver change management activities to prepare our people to deliver legislative changes
- Prepare and deliver communications to the judiciary and Ministry staff about upcoming changes to legislation
- Participate in workshops to consider the practical implications of new policy suggestions
- Talk to colleagues in other agencies about legislation they are administering.

**Mō te tīma/About our Team**

The Implementation team works closely with the Ministry's Policy Group to implement policy and legislative changes agreed by Parliament. We work on a range of different issues that impact how NZ justice services operate day to day. The work we do has a big impact on how people experience our justice system, often at one of the most vulnerable times of their lives.

In addition to legislative changes, our team also leads some change or improvement projects that help deliver on the Justice Sector ministerial commitments. Some examples of these are improving the resources and information available to people making care of children arrangements and developing information resources for victims of sexual violence who are about to give evidence in a trial.

We are looking for someone with:

- A good understanding of the justice sector, in particular of how people experience using the services we provide
- The ability to put themselves in the shoes of everyday people and design with their needs in mind
- An awareness of parliament's legislative change process
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex messages clearly and concisely
- A can-do attitude, and the ability to independently complete allocated work.
