Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.
He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
The paediatric service is seeking an experienced and dynamic paediatric nurse with a passion for diabetes, Tamariki, whānau and education. There is the opportunity to work with children and Rangatahi living with diabetes while providing expert advice and support, both in the community and in hospital settings.
You will be able to develop your existing skills while working in partnership to improve the health outcomes of children living with diabetes. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team that Paediatricians, Dietitians, Psychologists, to support children and their whanau to flourish in our community.
The successful applicant will provide expert knowledge and skills to support the implementation of therapeutic and evidence-based nursing interventions within the Paediatric Diabetes Service. You will also act as a professional resource for the multidisciplinary and inpatient paediatric teams.
He Kōrero mōu - About You
This role requires demonstration of advanced assessment skills and critical thinking, delivering solution focused, child centred approaches to care. This is a proactive and developing service seeking those with a desire for innovation and service improvement.
The role is for 0.6 FTE, however, this can be negotiated.
