Clinical Director

Spectrum Care is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Spectrum Foundation and part of the Spectrum Group, providing support services for disabled people and their family/whānau.
We are seeking a Clinical Director to provide clinical advice and leadership, ensuring the consistent delivery of a high-quality, outcomes-focused service to optimise the health and wellbeing of disabled people served by Spectrum Care. The role leads the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Spectrum Care's clinical governance framework.
**Key Priorities**
- Continuous improvement in the safety of health, behavioural, and communication supports delivered by Spectrum Care staff, following clinical advice and guidance.
- Optimising the health, safety, and wellbeing of disabled individuals to enhance their quality of life.
- Reducing health inequalities for Māori and Pasifika communities.
**Key Responsibilities** include but are not limited to:
- Providing leadership to the clinical team and overseeing practice standards.
- Offering evidence-based clinical advice on health, behavioural, and communication supports.
- Leading the implementation of the clinical governance framework to promote prevention and continuous improvement through effective clinical governance and risk management
- Ensuring proactive risk management, including the identification, reporting, and review of clinical incidents, with lessons learned driving service improvements.
- Championing person-centred support and fostering a culture of best practice across the organisation.
- Promoting a holistic approach to health and **wellbeing**
**Skills and Experience Required**:
- Over 10 years of experience as a health practitioner, with significant experience in senior clinical and leadership roles.
- Proven experience in effective risk management.
- Post-graduate qualification in a health-related discipline.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and collaborating across different health disciplines.
- Strong ability to influence health professionals and stakeholders.
- Experience working with intellectually disabled individuals preferred.
- Experience or strong understanding of the NGO sector preferred.
- Experience collaborating with Māori and Pasifika communities preferred.
