Ko ake mahi - What you'll do We are seeking a dedicated Public Health clinical leader to provide expert guidance and strategic direction within the Public Health Agency and the wider Ministry.
Clinical Leadership: Offer public health clinical leadership and advice to the Deputy Director-General, Director-General of Health, and relevant Ministers, across both public and population health.
Strategic input: Provide strategic leadership for the National Public Health Service within Health New Zealand, working closely with the National Director and Chief Public Health Clinical Officer.
Program Leadership: Lead key programs within the Directorate to achieve government and Ministry objectives.
Collaboration: Engage with technical experts across government and the health sector to drive the government's public health objectives.
Engagement: Represent the Public Health Agency and Ministry at key forums in addition to representing New Zealand in international public health discussions.
Eligible for vocational registration in Public Health Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand Significant experience of providing strategic health leadership including recognition as a leader in an area of Public Health Experience working in political environments and public-facing leadership roles Strong people leadership, management and influencing experience Understanding of the New Zealand health system Work as a Medical Officer of Health or equivalent role preferred At Manatū Hauora - Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance.
We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.
